Lucky Block Mod is exactly what it says on the tin; it’s a lucky block and depending on how lucky you really are, it can produce a number of outcomes for you, providing luck is on your side.
What Lucky Block does is inputs one, unique item in the world called, “Lucky Block” (no surprise there). When you mine this block, just like any other resource, a number of actions can occur to you as the player. The more positive of the lot is the block dropping a number of useful items for you to claim and pick up for yourself. Then there’s the less positive of the lot, like a giant zombie being spawned into the world, one which will stop at nothing until you’re 6 feet under. But, if you’re looking for something a little more exciting on your end, then the block could shoot out fireworks into the sky or even spawn in a structure, one which you’re then free to go and explore at your leisure.
For a mod that only adds one new item, it can’t be said that it’s a boring experience, as you’re bound to have something new occur almost every time you get lucky enough with coming across a new box or when you decide to make it yourself. Yeah, that’s right, the Lucky Box can also be crafted for you to use it wherever and whenever you wish. You see, the creator of the mod makes the argument that gold has little-to-no value in Minecraft, and it really doesn’t. You can do very little that can be considered useful when it comes to gold, but with this mod it makes sure to change that by using the rather useless resource in its crafting recipe to make something interesting out of something useless.
It does have to be said, that while the mod can do some pretty awesome things, and awful; depending on your overall luck that you have, it is for the best that you backup your world. The reason being for that is down to the fact that if you place a Lucky Block in the middle of your house, break it open, and it proceeds to spawn in a new structure, quickly destroying your once beloved home. For that reason, it’s probably for the best that you either backup your world or take it a little further away from home, just to be on the safe side.
I have to admit, it’s strange to think that just the one block added to the game can provide so much intrigue, fun, and even horror, all encased in just this one little, golden block. While it can be deadly for your existing world if you’re not careful, the overall experience that comes in this small, golden package is more than worth your time if you’re looking for a mod that can bring in some unpredictability and a use for gold.
